Member of the WHO interntional team investigation the origin of the SARS-CoV-2 and of the current WHO SAGO expert group assisting WHO with pandemic origin matters. Clinical background within infectious diseases and trained in epidemic response and preparedness at the US Center for Disease Control & experience from worldwide research in the interdisciplinary field of epidemic control and prevention for +20 years. Co-founder of international interdisciplinary network ENPEN (European Network of Non-polio Enteroviruses) established in 2017. Former director of WHO National Influenza Centre in Denmark, and WHO national reference laboratories at Statens Serum Institut.
