Clinical background within infectious diseases and trained in epidemic response and preparedness at the US Center for Disease Control & experience from worldwide research in the interdisciplinary field of epidemic control and prevention for +20 years. Co-founder of international interdisciplinary network ENPEN (European Network of Non-polio Enteroviruses) established in 2017. Former director of WHO National Influenza Centre in Denmark, and WHO national reference laboratories at Statens Serum Institut.
